Presenters: Ann E. Potter, Ph.D. and Debra Wesselmann, MS, LIMHP

19 Licensure Credits for ALL 3 DAYS
14 Licensure Credits for Days 1 & 2

12 EMDRIA Credits

DAYS 1 and 2:
This 2-day training a teaches participants the skills and strategies for incorporating EMDR therapy into internal restructuring and creation of safety and attachment for parts of self, creation of effective resource team and integration of internalized parent and protector/controller into resource team, time-orientation for parts of self, installation of a new bonding contract, and creation of a therapeutic story prior to reprocessing stages to maximize positive EMDR therapy outcomes.

Although presented material can be used with DID clients, such application is not the focus of this session. Lecture, films, demonstrations, Q & A, skills practice, and handouts will allow participants to apply strategies immediately with their own clients.

DAY 3:

This optional practicum day for participants in the Strengthening Authentic Self Workshop provides participants opportunity to practice the strategies for effective creation of safe place and Higher Power, resource team work and time orientation, negotiation with internalized parent and protector/controller, creation of new inner attachment experiences, resourcing adult state, and creation of a new bonding contract. Participants will target countertransference issues to improve capacity for providing an emotionally corrective relationship.

Participants will be able to implement Standard Protocol more safely with complex clients through “contained reprocessing” and will be able to utilize cognitive interweaves to access internal support of the restructured system. Participants will have opportunity to practice the standard protocol while incorporating effective interweaves.
